Mohagen Hansen Architecture | Interiors worked with Parnassus Preparatory School to expand their location in Maple Grove. The expansion added 24 classrooms, a gymnasium, and auditorium to the existing building. Parnassus opened in 2011 with 360 students, and today their enrollment is up to 1,000 students. Recent growth in charter schools has been seen throughout the State of Minnesota, and clearly Parnassus is no exception. This expansion allowed the school to accommodate the additional students not only in the classroom, but also provided an auditorium for larger assemblies to take place during the school day, which in some instances could involve the entire student body. A new gymnasium allowed the expansion of the physical education program as well. The interior renovation incorporated branding strategies that have also grown with the educational facility. These strategies help to instill a sense of place and inclusion for all students.
