Job Summary:

In this Architectural Designer role, you will be working with the design team to produce and develop conceptual designs into presentation and construction drawings. You will also be interfacing with clients to determine and develop architectural solutions as well as working on multidisciplinary project teams.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Develops and creatively design concepts for clients/projects.
  • Work with Project Managers, Sr. Architects and Principals on design issues and determines and develops architectural solutions.
  • Develops, modifies, and reviews production drawings and construction documents and corrects and updates documents as required.
  • Develops solutions for basic to moderate design problems.
  • Assists with master planning, site planning and building planning and design efforts and documentation development, utilizing 2-D and 3-D modeling and digital presentation packaging.
  • Provides creative design suggestions during the conceptual and schematic phases of projects.
  • Performs design computations, specifications, compile data for basic to complex architectural assignments.
  • Collaborates with Principals, Project Managers and other team members to advance the design concepts.
  • Assists in the construction administration phase by reviewing shop drawings and creating a master log of the project submittals, as well as answering Request for Information (RFI) and Supplemental Information (SI) and preparation of change directives.
  • Reviews building codes to ensure that designs comply with minimum legal standards.

Qualifications Required:

  • Bachelor of Architecture degree with at least two years of architecture and design experience. Master of Architecture preferred.
  • Pursuing certification to become a Licensed Architect preferred.
  • Experience with site planning and zoning analysis a plus.
  • Construction administration experience a plus.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit documentation, production and coordination, with an emphasis on 3D presentation.
  • Ability to plan and design with 3D software program, i.e., Sketch-up, Lumion, etc. a plus.
  • Ability to plan and design creative and effective design solutions in a fast pace environment.
Architect - Healthcare
Minneapolis, MN

Position Summary:

This position will work with and under minimal direction of Principals and Project Managers to develop and creatively design concepts for client projects. Leads the design efforts by producing and developing conceptual designs into presentation and construction drawings. At times, this position will manage overall client projects. Will have opportunities to do medical planning. 

Essential Job Functions:

  • Develops and creatively design concepts for a variety of healthcare clients/projects, including inpatient facilities, specialty clinics, ambulatory surgery centers, behavioral health and medical office buildings.
  • Prepares and produces CAD drawings to create and document architectural designs.
  • Interfaces with client on design issues and determines and develops architectural solutions.
  • Develops, modifies, and reviews production drawings and construction documents and corrects and updates documents as required.
  • Involved with analyses of client problems and determines and develops architectural solutions.
  • Develops solutions to complex architecture design problems which requires the regular use of ingenuity and innovation.
  • Assists with master planning, site planning and building planning and design efforts and documentation development, utilizing 2-D and 3-D modeling and digital presentation packaging.
  • Provides creative design direction during the conceptual and schematic phases of projects.
  • Performs design computations, specifications, compile data for basic to complex architectural assignments.
  • Collaborates with Principal, Project Manager and other team members to advance the design concepts.
  • Assists in the construction administration phase by reviewing shop drawings and creating a master log of the project submittals, as well as answering Request for Information (RFI) and Supplemental Information (SI) and preparation of change directives.
  • Prepares finished material sample boards and graphic presentations for client approval.
  • Coordination with outside disciplines such as Civil, Structural, Electrical and Mechanical and other consultants with the architectural designs.
  • Reviews building codes to ensure that designs comply with minimum legal standards.
  • Prepares Professional Services Agreement for review with Project Manager/Principals.
  • Provides leadership and creative design direction during the conceptual and schematic phases of projects.
  • Ensures timely and effective management and delivery of designs and plans to ensure project goals and objectives have been satisfied.
  • Is in regular contact with client on design matters and builds customer relationships.
  • Assists Project Manager with oversight on design efforts and document development on complex/larger projects.
  • Mentors design associates and directs members on architectural design concepts to create a learning and growing environment.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor of Architecture degree with at least five years of architecture and design experience with an emphasis in the healthcare industry. Master of Architecture preferred.
  • Licensed Architect preferred or in the process of obtaining an architectural license..
  • At least three years of experience managing multiple project activities within the architecture industry.
  • Experience with site planning and medical planning..
  • Construction administration experience required.
  • Has complete understanding and application of architecture principles, practices and concepts.
  • Ability to design with and proficient in 3D software programs such as AutoCAD Architecture, Revit and Sketch-up.
  • Working knowledge of Lumion, or other related rendering software applications is a plus.
Interior Design - Intern

Job Summary:

In this Interior Designer Intern role, you will work with Interior Design professionals and assist with design concepts, color/finish selections, and furniture selections and gain practical experience with regard to design development, as well as working with multidisciplinary project teams.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Works closely with Interior Designers and the Director of Interior Design to help develop design concepts, color/finish selections and furniture selections for commercial interior architectural projects.
  • Collaborates with the Director of Interiors, Project Manager and other team members to advance the design concepts.
  • Collects client space requirements and develops space program documents for projects.
  • Assists with completing as-built measures of spaces.
  • Assists in developing adjacency block plans and space plan layouts for projects.
  • Develops color/material finish palettes.
  • Participates in the development of construction documents and specifications to assist in the compliance with the design intent.
  • Modifies and updates construction documents as required.
  • Participates in the development of furniture specifications and collaborates with the selected furniture vendor to complete furniture orders.

Qualifications Required:

  • The successful candidate will be pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Interior Design from a CIDA accredited program.
  • Has basic understanding and application of interior design principles, practices and concepts.
  • Ability to design in 2D & 3D software programs such as Revit and Sketch-up is a plus.

Director of Interior Design

Job Summary:

In this Director of Interior Design role, you will lead the Firm’s Interior Design Department, create marketing strategies to attract and obtain new clients and work with Principals, Architects and other team members to develop design concepts, color/finish selections and furniture selections for interior architectural projects from schematic design phases through the construction administration phases.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Oversees the Interior Design Department and management of the interiors group.
  • Collaborates with Firm Principals to develop interior design goals and objectives for Firm.
  • Creates and establishes marketing strategies for the interior design department.
  • Determines network marketing strategies and resources to attract new clients.
  • Oversees and develops interior design concepts, color/finish selections and furniture selections for commercial architectural projects.
  • Advances the interior design concepts to ensure the Firm is competitive in the interior design market.
  • Supervises interior designers and projects ranging in size and complexity.
  • Ensures timely and effective management and delivery of interior designs and plans to ensure project goals, objectives and clients are being satisfied.
  • Leads the creative design direction during the conceptual and schematic phases on various projects.
  • Independently develops new and unique approaches on design solutions.
  • Sets budget for interior design projects and writes fee proposals.

Qualifications Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design from a CIDA accredited program with at least 15 years of commercial interior design experience including ten years of experience with furniture applications is required.
  • Must have a NCIDQ and CID certification.
  • At least five years of experience leading or supervising interior designers in an architectural work setting.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit and Sketch-up, with an emphasis on 3D presentation.
  • Has a solid understanding and application of interior design principles, practices and concepts.

Accounting and Payroll Specialist
Minneapolis, MN

Job Summary

In this role you will report to the Principals of the Firm and manage various financial activities such as preparing financial reports for the guidance of financial and operational decisions and establishing and maintaining policies, procedures and practices of all accounting and payroll related functions.

This role will mainly consist of the following responsibilities: 

Accounting:

  • Establishes and maintains policies, procedures and practices relating to the management of all accounting related functions including cost accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, credit policies, billing, general ledger, and fixed asset accounting.
  • Prepares reports, which summarize and forecast company business activity and financial position in areas of income and expenses based on past, present, and expected operations.
  • Prepares financial statements, and other reports required by regulatory agencies.
  • Works with Principals and Project Managers in setting-up project budgets and maintaining and tracking accounting information through the Ajera software system.
  • Maintains financial business records.
  • Works with insurance brokers on property, liability and workers compensation insurance coverages.
  • Makes daily bank deposits and maintains cash balance.
  • Processes invoices on a monthly basis.
  • Assists HR Manager in the administration of benefit programs.
  • Completes accounting functions and related financial activities for the Firm and LE Development, LLC and Wayzata Professional Association.
  • Corresponds with Corporate Tax Accountant in preparation of annual corporate tax requirements.

Payroll:

  • Ensures the accurate and timely processing and payment of payroll to all employees.
  • Oversees the processing of all payroll activities including managing the payroll system, managing the relationship between the Firm and the payroll service provider and ensuring compliance of wage and hour and tax legal requirements.
  • Develops and processes all required and requested payroll reports.
  • Ensures completion of all required time records, paperwork and other payroll related documents.
  • Maintains all payroll records.
  • Trains new employees on time and hour reporting and process for reimbursement of expenses.
  • Answers payroll and time reporting questions and concerns.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance with at least four years of experience in the accounting/financial field or seven years of experience without a degree required.
  • Experience in financial statement preparation, tax preparation or familiarity with tax laws and filing requirements.
  • Experience with payroll processing and wage and hour laws required.
  • Proficient in MS Office products such as Excel, Word, and MS Outlook.
  • Experience using Ajera or similar accounting and payroll software applications.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, and percentages.
