In this role, you will be a vital component of the Healthcare Team, working with senior healthcare architects to expand your knowledge and experience within the healthcare market in an effort to become a firm leader within the Healthcare Team. You will be responsible for all levels of project development from proposal writing to medical planning to final construction phase services. You will be collaborating and working closely with colleagues, vendors, clients, and consultants as well as expanding your business development opportunities.

This role will primarily consist of the following responsibilities:  

Project Development:  

  • Medical planning involving the development and creation of design concepts for a variety of healthcare clients/projects, including inpatient facilities, hospitals, high occupancy, specialty clinics, ambulatory surgery centers, behavioral health facilities and medical office buildings. 
  • Produces designs from presentation through construction drawings.  
  • Prepares and produces CAD/Revit drawings to create and document architectural designs. 
  • Provides creative design direction during the conceptual and schematic phases of projects. 
  • Collaborates with the firm Principal, Project Managers, and other team members and consultants to advance the design concepts. 
  • Opportunities to be involved in the projects from concept to completion. 

Managing Client Relationships:  

  • Interface with clients and lead client meetings to build long-term relationships.  
  • Works closely with the client and other team members on design issues and determines creative architectural solutions. 
  • Maintains ongoing communication regarding project schedule and budget with clients, developers, and project partners. 
  • Preparation and review of contract documents with Project Managers/Principals. 

Managing Client Projects:  

  • Assists with master planning, site planning, building design and interior architecture for the development of design documentation. 
  • Coordinates the efforts of outside disciplines such as Civil, Structural, Electrical and Mechanical and other consultants into a cohesive set of design documents. 
  • Reviews building codes to ensure that designs comply with legal standards. 
  • Ensures timely and effective management and delivery of designs and plans to ensure project goals and objectives have been satisfied. 
  • Assists in the construction phase activities by reviewing shop drawings and creating a master log of the project submittals, as well as answering Requests for Information (RFI) and issuing Supplemental Instructions (SI) and preparation of change directives. 
  • Mentors design associates and directs staff members on architectural design concepts to foster a learning and growing environment. 

Qualifications and Skills: 

  • Bachelor of Architecture degree with at least five (5) years of architecture and design experience with an emphasis in the healthcare industry. Master of Architecture preferred. 
  • Licensure in the State of MN preferred or in the process of obtaining an architectural licensure. 
  • At least five (5) to seven (7) years of experience managing multiple discipline project activities. 
  • Experience with site planning and medical planning required.
  • Construction administration experience required. 
  • Ability to design with, and proficient in 3D software programs such as Revit, AutoCAD, Sketch-up, Lumion and other graphic platforms.

Due to growth, we are hiring for an experienced Interior Designer (3-5 years’ experience).

In this role you will be performing all technical aspects of the interior design process from project setup to construction administration. You will be involved in creating design concepts, assist in design efforts, data gathering, planning, documentation and gaining experience in a variety of projects. 

Essential Responsibilities

  1. Works with architectural and interior design teams to develop the interior design direction, translating complex programming requirements into schematic design while developing detailed concepts focusing on the patient experience.
  2. Participates in the thought leadership of interior design projects assigned including research, strategic planning, interview participation, and partnering with the healthcare architecture team.
  3. Collaborates and communicates effectively and professionally with multidisciplinary teams.
  4. Research materials and concepts to advise and direct design team on technical issues influencing interior design concept development.
  5. Utilizes past knowledge and experience to enhance the quality of design.
  6. Works within project schedules to prioritize tasks and coordinate the completion of documentation required from initial design phase through final project completion.
  7. Reviews material submittals and conduct on-site observations.
  8. Coordinates interior design data gathering and document preparation.

To succeed in this role:

Knowledge and Experience:

  • The successful candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in Interior Design from a CIDA accredited program. 
  • At least 3-5 years of commercial interior design experience including experience with a focus on design and projects, showing a proven track record of successful design with complex, multi-phase projects.
  • Seeking professional licensure and/or certification required; LEED AP and EDAC strongly encouraged.
  • Fluent knowledge of Revit, Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office and/or other related graphic software programs is expected.
  • Knowledge of 3D programs such as Revit and/or Sketch-up
  • Strong leadership and presentation skills
  • Willingness to take on a variety of projects.
  • Ability to cultivate relationships with clients and co-workers, and a passion for providing mentorship to staff.
  • Developing strong communication and presentation skills
  • Interior design concepts, materials, and furnishings requirements specific to Healthcare and hospitality projects – including concepts, practices, standards, and principles.
  • Thorough understanding of the technical process for large-scale interiors projects with a specific emphasis in the healthcare and hospitality sector as defined by the firm.
  • Knowledge in relevant building, FGI, ADA, construction standards, and other related regulatory requirements.
  • Understanding of building materials, specifications, and construction techniques
  • Understanding of applicable codes (city, state, federal)
  • Understanding of finish materials, FF&E selection and specification, interior design components for millwork/casework and construction detailing.

  • Assists PM in coordinating the efforts of outside disciplines such as Civil, Structural, Electrical and Mechanical and other consultants into a cohesive set of design documents.

  • Ability to support multiple project activities simultaneously. 
  • Experience with site planning. 
  • Construction administration experience required. 
  • Ability to design with, and\ proficient in 3D software programs such as Revit, AutoCAD, Sketch-up, Lumion and other graphic platforms.
