Job Summary:

In this Director of Interior Design role, you will lead the Firm’s Interior Design Department, create marketing strategies to attract and obtain new clients and work with Principals, Architects and other team members to develop design concepts, color/finish selections and furniture selections for interior architectural projects from schematic design phases through the construction administration phases.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Oversees the Interior Design Department and management of the interiors group.
  • Collaborates with Firm Principals to develop interior design goals and objectives for Firm.
  • Creates and establishes marketing strategies for the interior design department.
  • Determines network marketing strategies and resources to attract new clients.
  • Oversees and develops interior design concepts, color/finish selections and furniture selections for commercial architectural projects.
  • Advances the interior design concepts to ensure the Firm is competitive in the interior design market.
  • Supervises interior designers and projects ranging in size and complexity.
  • Ensures timely and effective management and delivery of interior designs and plans to ensure project goals, objectives and clients are being satisfied.
  • Leads the creative design direction during the conceptual and schematic phases on various projects.
  • Independently develops new and unique approaches on design solutions.
  • Sets budget for interior design projects and writes fee proposals.
  • Is the primary contact for clients on interior design projects and builds effective long-term client relationships.
  • Analyses client problems and determines and develops interior design solutions.
  • Mentors and develops interior designer’s skill sets and other staff members on interior design concepts to create a learning and growing environment.

Qualifications Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design from a CIDA accredited program with at least 15 years of commercial interior design experience including ten years of experience with furniture applications is required.
  • Must have a NCIDQ and CID certification.
  • At least five years of experience leading or supervising interior designers in an architectural work setting.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit and Sketch-up, with an emphasis on 3D presentation.
  • Has a solid understanding and application of interior design principles, practices and concepts.
  • Ability to design creative and effective design solutions.
Architectural Designer
Minneapolis, MN

Job Summary:

In this Architectural Designer role, you will be working with the design team to produce and develop conceptual designs into presentation and construction drawings. You will also be interfacing with clients to determine and develop architectural solutions as well as working on multidisciplinary project teams.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Develops and creatively design concepts for clients/projects.
  • Work with Project Managers, Sr. Architects and Principals on design issues and determines and develops architectural solutions.
  • Develops, modifies, and reviews production drawings and construction documents and corrects and updates documents as required.
  • Develops solutions for basic to moderate design problems.
  • Assists with master planning, site planning and building planning and design efforts and documentation development, utilizing 2-D and 3-D modeling and digital presentation packaging.
  • Provides creative design suggestions during the conceptual and schematic phases of projects.
  • Performs design computations, specifications, compile data for basic to complex architectural assignments.
  • Collaborates with Principals, Project Managers and other team members to advance the design concepts.
  • Assists in the construction administration phase by reviewing shop drawings and creating a master log of the project submittals, as well as answering Request for Information (RFI) and Supplemental Information (SI) and preparation of change directives.
  • Prepares finished material sample boards and graphic presentations for client approval.
  • Reviews building codes to ensure that designs comply with minimum legal standards.

Qualifications Required:

  • Bachelor of Architecture degree with at least five years of architecture and design experience. Master of Architecture preferred.
  • Pursuing certification to become a Licensed Architect preferred.
  • Experience with site planning and zoning analysis a plus.
  • Construction administration experience a plus.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit documentation, production and coordination, with an emphasis on 3D presentation.
  • Ability to plan and design with 3D software program, i.e., Sketch-up, Lumion, etc. a plus.

Architectural Intern

Marketing Coordinator
Minneapolis, MN

Position Summary:

Under the supervision of the Director of Marketing, this position will assist with marketing projects and activities to promote the Firm’s visibility and communication of their architectural and interior design capabilities. Responsibilities include understanding the Firm’s architectural and interior design services, assisting clients with questions and inquiries, representing the Firm at client and community events and preparing marketing and promotional materials.   

Essential Job Functions:

Material Development:

  • Assists in creating proposals that are organized, succinct and persuasive to comply with client requirements.
  • Meets internal and external deadlines for proposal submissions.
  • Reviews solicitation requirements and RFP specifications and validates compliance.
  • Creates graphics and documentation to use within the proposal process and for proposal submission.
  • Compiles and organizes all documents needed for proposal submission, such as workplans, fee schedules, etc.
  • Participates in regular marketing meetings providing status updates.
  • Ensures quality of proposals meets Firm’s expectations and requirements.

Marketing Coordination:

  • Assists with the planning and executive of marketing strategies and objectives.
  • Executes the materials necessary for specific presentations and interviews.
  • Gathers information on potential clients and projects and tracks potential project leads as required.
  • Executes market research efforts to support ongoing Firm development activities.
  • Updates and coordinates production of marketing materials.
  • Responds to firm-wide requests and provides general support to logistical planning for meetings and conferences.
  • Maintains marketing database including information on projects, clients and prospects.
  • Assists with marketing brochures, direct mail, advertising, editing and proofreading.
  • Assists in implementing public relations programs, events, and trade shows.
  • Updates and maintains Firm’s website and social media sites and resources.
  • Coordinates various marketing fulfillment duties and systems including direct mail, packages, letters,catalogs, and other marketing and sales literature.
  • Participates in new market research and design.
  • Assists with incoming calls and other administrative tasks. Provides back-up to front desk duties.
  • Manages the client contact database.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor degree in Marketing, Business Administration or related degree with at least one year of marketing experience, preferably in a service provider firm.
  • Proficient in:
    • MS Office products such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
    • Adobe Creative Suite programs – primarily In-Design and Photoshop
    • WordPress – content management software we use for our website.
  • Ability to prepare reports, promotional literature, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and communicate with vendors, clients, distributors, regulatory representatives, and employees of the Firm.

Architect

Position Summary:

This position will work with and under general supervision of Principals, Project Managers and/or Sr. Architects to develop and creatively design concepts for client projects. Leads the design efforts by producing and developing conceptual designs into presentation and construction drawings.

  • Prepares and produces CAD drawings to create and document architectural designs.
  • Interfaces with client on design issues and determines and develops architectural solutions.
  • Develops, modifies, and reviews production drawings and construction documents and corrects and updates documents as required.
  • Develops solutions for basic to moderate design problems.
  • Assists with master planning, site planning and building planning and design efforts and documentation development, utilizing 2-D and 3-D modeling and digital presentation packaging.

  • Ensures timely and effective management and delivery of drawings to ensure project goals and objectives have been satisfied.
  • Mentors associates and other staff members on architectural design concepts to create a learning and growing environment.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor of Architecture degree with at least five years of architecture and design experience. Master of Architecture preferred.
  • Licensed Architect required.
  • Experience working in the healthcare industry preferred. 
  • At least two years of experience managing multiple project activities within the architecture industry.
  • Ability to design with and proficient in #D software programs such as AutoCAD Architecture, Revit and Sketch-up.
  • Experience with site planning and zoning analysis.
  • Construction administration experience a plus.
  • Solid level of architecture and organizational skills.
  • Able to manage multiple projects at one time.
