Job Summary:

In this Architectural Designer role, you will be working with the design team to produce and develop conceptual designs into presentation and construction drawings. You will also be interfacing with clients to determine and develop architectural solutions as well as working on multidisciplinary project teams.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Develops and creatively design concepts for clients/projects.
  • Work with Project Managers, Sr. Architects and Principals on design issues and determines and develops architectural solutions.
  • Develops, modifies, and reviews production drawings and construction documents and corrects and updates documents as required.
  • Develops solutions for basic to moderate design problems.
  • Assists with master planning, site planning and building planning and design efforts and documentation development, utilizing 2-D and 3-D modeling and digital presentation packaging.
  • Provides creative design suggestions during the conceptual and schematic phases of projects.
  • Performs design computations, specifications, compile data for basic to complex architectural assignments.
  • Collaborates with Principals, Project Managers and other team members to advance the design concepts.
  • Assists in the construction administration phase by reviewing shop drawings and creating a master log of the project submittals, as well as answering Request for Information (RFI) and Supplemental Information (SI) and preparation of change directives.
  • Reviews building codes to ensure that designs comply with minimum legal standards.

Qualifications Required:

  • Bachelor of Architecture degree with at least two years of architecture and design experience. Master of Architecture preferred.
  • Pursuing certification to become a Licensed Architect preferred.
  • Experience with site planning and zoning analysis a plus.
  • Construction administration experience a plus.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit documentation, production and coordination, with an emphasis on 3D presentation.
  • Ability to plan and design with 3D software program, i.e., Sketch-up, Lumion, etc. a plus.
  • Ability to plan and design creative and effective design solutions in a fast pace environment.
Architect - Healthcare
Minneapolis, MN

Position Summary:

This position will work with and under minimal direction of Principals and Project Managers to develop and creatively design concepts for client projects. Leads the design efforts by producing and developing conceptual designs into presentation and construction drawings. At times, this position will manage overall client projects. Will have opportunities to do medical planning. 

Essential Job Functions:

  • Develops and creatively design concepts for a variety of healthcare clients/projects, including inpatient facilities, specialty clinics, ambulatory surgery centers, behavioral health and medical office buildings.
  • Prepares and produces CAD drawings to create and document architectural designs.
  • Interfaces with client on design issues and determines and develops architectural solutions.
  • Develops, modifies, and reviews production drawings and construction documents and corrects and updates documents as required.
  • Involved with analyses of client problems and determines and develops architectural solutions.
  • Develops solutions to complex architecture design problems which requires the regular use of ingenuity and innovation.
  • Assists with master planning, site planning and building planning and design efforts and documentation development, utilizing 2-D and 3-D modeling and digital presentation packaging.
  • Provides creative design direction during the conceptual and schematic phases of projects.
  • Performs design computations, specifications, compile data for basic to complex architectural assignments.
  • Collaborates with Principal, Project Manager and other team members to advance the design concepts.
  • Assists in the construction administration phase by reviewing shop drawings and creating a master log of the project submittals, as well as answering Request for Information (RFI) and Supplemental Information (SI) and preparation of change directives.
  • Prepares finished material sample boards and graphic presentations for client approval.
  • Coordination with outside disciplines such as Civil, Structural, Electrical and Mechanical and other consultants with the architectural designs.
  • Reviews building codes to ensure that designs comply with minimum legal standards.
  • Prepares Professional Services Agreement for review with Project Manager/Principals.
  • Provides leadership and creative design direction during the conceptual and schematic phases of projects.
  • Ensures timely and effective management and delivery of designs and plans to ensure project goals and objectives have been satisfied.
  • Is in regular contact with client on design matters and builds customer relationships.
  • Assists Project Manager with oversight on design efforts and document development on complex/larger projects.
  • Mentors design associates and directs members on architectural design concepts to create a learning and growing environment.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor of Architecture degree with at least five years of architecture and design experience with an emphasis in the healthcare industry. Master of Architecture preferred.
  • Licensed Architect preferred or in the process of obtaining an architectural license..
  • At least three years of experience managing multiple project activities within the architecture industry.
  • Experience with site planning and medical planning..
  • Construction administration experience required.
  • Has complete understanding and application of architecture principles, practices and concepts.
  • Ability to design with and proficient in 3D software programs such as AutoCAD Architecture, Revit and Sketch-up.
  • Working knowledge of Lumion, or other related rendering software applications is a plus.
Director of Interior Design

Job Summary:

In this Director of Interior Design role, you will lead the Firm’s Interior Design Department, create marketing strategies to attract and obtain new clients and work with Principals, Architects and other team members to develop design concepts, color/finish selections and furniture selections for interior architectural projects from schematic design phases through the construction administration phases.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Oversees the Interior Design Department and management of the interiors group.
  • Collaborates with Firm Principals to develop interior design goals and objectives for Firm.
  • Creates and establishes marketing strategies for the interior design department.
  • Determines network marketing strategies and resources to attract new clients.
  • Oversees and develops interior design concepts, color/finish selections and furniture selections for commercial architectural projects.
  • Advances the interior design concepts to ensure the Firm is competitive in the interior design market.
  • Supervises interior designers and projects ranging in size and complexity.
  • Ensures timely and effective management and delivery of interior designs and plans to ensure project goals, objectives and clients are being satisfied.
  • Leads the creative design direction during the conceptual and schematic phases on various projects.
  • Independently develops new and unique approaches on design solutions.
  • Sets budget for interior design projects and writes fee proposals.
  • Is the primary contact for clients on interior design projects and builds effective long-term client relationships.
  • Analyses client problems and determines and develops interior design solutions.
  • Mentors and develops interior designer’s skill sets and other staff members on interior design concepts to create a learning and growing environment.

Qualifications Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design from a CIDA accredited program with at least 15 years of commercial interior design experience including ten years of experience with furniture applications is required.
  • Must have a NCIDQ and CID certification.
  • At least five years of experience leading or supervising interior designers in an architectural work setting.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit and Sketch-up, with an emphasis on 3D presentation.
  • Has a solid understanding and application of interior design principles, practices and concepts.
  • Ability to design creative and effective design solutions.
Human Resources Manager (Part-time – 24 to 32 hours/week)

Job Summary:

In this role you will report to the Firm Principals and are responsible for the implementation and administration of Human Resources programs, policies, practices and procedures. Working with the Leadership Team you will help to develop and implement strategic HR programs that align with the direction and goals of the Firm.  Your role will include providing positive, effective HR services including, but not limited to, recruitment and selection, benefits administration, new hire orientation, performance management, employee relations, employee training, recognition and development.

Primary responsibilities: 

Employment

  • Determines recruitment resources and posts job openings on various sites.
  • Builds network to attract potential candidates for the Firm’s current and future openings.
  • Screens resumes and conducts initial phone interviews.
  • Works with Leadership Team to determine job level and required qualifications for postings.
  • Sets-up and conducts in-person interviews along with the Leadership Team.
  • Completes appropriate background and reference checks on candidates.
  • Ensures that all aspects of the hiring process are executed properly.
  • Develops and updates job descriptions.
  • Works with Leadership Team to determine internal promotions.
  • Organizes and conducts new hire orientations to insure new employees are welcomed and effectively brought into the Firm.

Performance Management

  • Determines and coordinates the performance management process.
  • Ensures that performance review forms and procedures are timely and consistently used.
  • Assists Project Managers and Leadership Team when giving feedback on performance, which includes making suggestions on how to handle performances issues and concerns.

Employee Relations

  • Works with Leadership Team to build a positive and professional work environment.
  • Functions as the primary employee relations contact for all employees. Responsibilities include, but not limited to, answering HR related questions, interpreting personnel policies, and assisting Leadership Team with performance and employee relations concerns.

Training and Educational Development

  • Works with Leadership Team on effective training and development programs and activities.
  • Sets-up and presents HR-related internal training.
  • Manages Individual Employee Development plans and works with Leadership Team and staff to determine effective ways to develop staff for future growth and potential.

Legal Compliance

  • Evaluates and updates HR related, and company policies and procedures as needed.
  • Establishes and maintains current, accurate personnel files in compliance with relevant legal requirements.
  • Ensures Firm compliance with HR-related legislation such as employment, benefits and/or employer practices.

Benefits Administration & Payroll

  • Communicates and administers Firm’s employee benefit programs such as medical, dental, life, short-term disability, long-term disability, and 401K, etc.
  • Responds to and resolves benefit questions or coverage issues with employees.
  • Submits changes to health and disability insurance vendors.
  • Researches and recommends benefit brokers.
  • Handles annual renewal of medical, dental and disability and life insurance.
  • Calculates compensation and benefit changes for employees.
  • Processes payroll when needed. Performs payroll back-up responsibilities for Accounting and Payroll Specialist.
  • General Administrative back-up as needed.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Seven or more years of experience in the Human Resources field. Experience in the professional service sector is a plus!
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources preferred.
  • Professional in Human Resources Certification preferred.
  • Solid understanding of local, state and federal Employment and Benefit laws required.
  • Experience handling various employee relations issues and employment best practices.
  • Solid communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects at one time.
  • Good problem-solving skills, agility and flexibility required
