West Lutheran High School
Plymouth, MN
Revitalizing the Heart of the Campus for Student Connection & Community
When West Lutheran High School set out to enhance its 2,130 sq. ft. main lobby and commons, the goal was clear: create a space that would reflect the school’s deep commitment to its students and foster a sense of belonging. With a focus on improving the areas where students spend so much of their time, Mohagen Hansen Architecture | Interiors worked closely with the school to transform these central spaces just in time for the new school year.
The design breathed new life into the lobby, incorporating custom-built seating, including integrated benches that encourage both socializing and quiet moments of reflection. Furniture concepts were carefully selected to complement the newly envisioned space, while the addition of bamboo-clad walls added warmth and a natural aesthetic, enhancing the overall ambiance.
To further enrich the environment, vibrant artwork and murals were introduced, creating a lively and spiritually engaging atmosphere that reflects the school’s values. Upgraded lighting highlighted the beauty of the design, making the commons a comfortable and inviting space for students to work, socialize, and relax.
