Twin City Twisters: A Dynamic Hub for Gymnastics Excellence and Community Connection
The Twin City Twisters project represents a bold leap forward for the gymnastics community in Champlin, MN. This 38,880-square-foot, state-of-the-art facility brings together training, community, and modern design in one cohesive, high-performance space. Created to serve current and future generations of athletes, the new building reflects a commitment to excellence, functionality, and long-term growth.
Consolidating two previous locations into a single expansive facility, the new TCT building was strategically designed to meet the evolving needs of both gymnasts and coaches. Positioned along Highway 169, its bright, modern exterior features a light precast structure, Nichia metal panel accents, and clerestory windows that create a welcoming and impactful street presence. A back-lit sign displaying the updated TCT logo marks the entrance, reinforcing brand identity and drawing visitors into the heart of the space. The building layout supports efficient traffic flow for drop-off and pick-up while also accommodating a wide range of activities—from daily training to future events and concessions.
Inside, the facility features a thoughtfully organized floor plan that includes a preschool gym, a large open-to-deck gymnasium for elite training, retail areas, administrative offices with built-in storage and kitchenette spaces, and a flexible event room. Coordination with equipment and pit vendors ensured optimal layout and function, allowing coaching staff to move easily between zones. Clerestory windows flood the training areas with natural light, enhancing focus and minimizing glare.
