Tap Into Experience: The Rusty Bumblebee Self Pour Tap House
Mohagen Hansen provided project management, interior architecture, and interior design services for the transformation of an existing retail space into a vibrant self-pour tap house. Located in a Blaine strip center, The Rusty Bumblebee offers a dynamic tap wall featuring an extensive selection of beer, wine, and seltzers from across the country. This project required seamless coordination with specialized tap system vendors to ensure optimal temperature control, flow, and carbonation—key elements in delivering a premium self-pour experience.
Design Concept
The design embodies an industrial-chic aesthetic, blending moody, modern elements with warm, inviting details:
- Raw & Refined Materials: Dark gray concrete floors and gray hexagonal tile frame the signature tap wall, creating a bold backdrop.
- Industrial Accents: Metal finishes and track lighting enhance the edgy yet welcoming ambiance.
- Warmth & Texture: A striking wood feature wall introduces texture and contrast, complemented by wood-wrapped elements extending to the fireplace surround, which serves as the focal point of an intimate seating area.
A variety of seating arrangements cater to both social gatherings and relaxed lounging, making the venue an inviting destination for every occasion.
