The Rock Youth Center: Building Brighter Mornings
Founded in 2023, the Rockford Area Breakfast Club (RABC) emerged from a simple yet powerful mission: to provide Rockford-area youth with a safe and uplifting place to begin their day. Known affectionately as “The Rock,” the center offers students a warm breakfast, a caring community, and a faith-based message of encouragement to set a positive tone for the day ahead. When the visionaries behind RABC set out to bring this idea to life, they selected Mohagen Hansen as their trusted design partner to help create a space that reflects the center’s mission of hope, connection, and growth.
In close collaboration with the RABC team, Mohagen Hansen designed a nearly 9,000-square-foot youth center that prioritizes warmth, comfort, and purpose. The facility features calming natural wood tones, serene exterior views, and an abundance of natural light—an intentional palette to create a peaceful and welcoming environment for students and staff alike. The thoughtfully planned layout includes administrative offices, a conference room, ample storage, restrooms, a fully equipped commercial kitchen, a student lounge, and a bright, inviting lobby. At the heart of the center is a spacious assembly area designed for large group gatherings, community events, and daily programming.
