Nature-Inspired Healing: Lakeview Hospital Women’s Center
The Lakeview Hospital Women’s Center in Stillwater, MN, underwent a transformative 26,000-square-foot renovation to create a boutique, hotel-like environment within a competent healthcare setting. This two-phase project aimed to enhance the birthing experience and women's healthcare services by integrating nature-inspired design elements and modern amenities. The renovation focused on providing a soothing and comfortable atmosphere for patients and their families.
Mohagen Hansen provided comprehensive services, including programming, space planning, interior architecture, and interior design, for the Lakeview Hospital Women’s Center renovation. The first phase introduced eight patient rooms designed for new mothers and female patients, featuring a birthing tub and an educational nursing room. The second phase encompassed six labor and delivery rooms arranged within a challenging circular floor plan, centered around a nurse station with direct views into each room. Additional spaces included a Level II Nursery, Nutrition Room, and Waiting Area. The phased approach ensured the facility remained operational throughout construction, allowing Lakeview to meet patient demands in an updated and comfortable environment.
